Social media is about building connections. The worst thing you can do is sound like a marketer on Facebook. Facebook as a business doesn’t like it when other businesses do that and potential customers don’t like it.
Branding
Start by determining what kind of brand you are. The voice of the brand will be amplified through Facebook so it’s important to know what that will sound like going in. This should be reflected in the profile photo, cover photo, about section, video and shared content.
Audience
You know your product or service better than anyone else, so you should know who would want that product or service better than anyone else as well. If you don’t, Facebook is going to give you an opportunity to get to know them. Facebook Analytics gives you a breakdown of the demographics of your audience including gender, age and location.
Creative Engagement
Social media is supposed to be fun. Come up with unique and fun ways to interact with your audience. This could be through questions, contests, behind-the-scene videos, photos and more. Once you get the interactions act off of them. Learn from what people liked and don’t like, literally.
