SEO stands for search engine optimization. Simply put, it is steps you take to ensure your website is found on search engines like Google. This is important because it means more people will be able to find your site. More visitors to your site means more potential clients. It is in every business' best interest to take the time and optimize their site. You can spend thousands of dollars on an amazingly designed site, but if no one can find it, it isn't serving your business any good.
Publish relevant, current articles that your customer base will find helpful. Posting duplicative content does not help. If you wouldn't click on it, no one else will either. More than just text include graphics, audio and video. People are looking for multi-media experiences when they go to websites.
Having internal and external links is an easy way to give your website credibility. Internal links go to another webpage on your website. External links lead to another website all together. Within your web pages and blog posts link to relevant sites. For example: if something happens in the news, link to a news article about the event.
These are short phrases that people would search in Google that you would like to lead to your site. Keywords can be included on your webpages or in blog posts. Build them in to your URLs as well.
